More Thank You's

Today I wanted to post two more thank you's. I wanted to take the time to thank two VERY important women. These women are two of the people making this adoption possible and they are both working very hard to get Sean home to his forever family. I want to thank our stateside coordinator Shelley, from Reece's Rainbow, and our facilitator in Sean's country, who I will call J.

*Shelley, you are amazing and I cannot thank you enough for all that you do for us on a daily basis, literally. I am constantly bombarding you with questions, concerns, etc. and you are are so unbelievably quick and patient in your responses. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this process easier for us by helping us through all the adoption confusion and paperwork that we have encountered so far and will continue to encounter. Thank you so much for being a quick email away for ALL of my questions... I know I have had a lot and I sincerely thank you for your patience with me.

*J, thank you first and foremost for caring so much about Sean and his well being. Thank you for giving him the love and attention he needs so desperately until his forever family can come and bring him home. I have heard that when he sees you he literally "lights up" and for that we are so grateful. You are a blessing for our baby boy and we truly appreciate all you do for him on a daily basis. Thank you as well for all that you have done for us and continue to do to help us with this adoption. Your help and guidance is truly appreciated. We look forward to meeting you!

Thank You

There are so many people I want to say thank you to. I just want to take a moment today to acknowledge some of you who have made such a difference for us so far during this adoption process. We have so much to be grateful for and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

*Thank you to all of you who take the time to read this blog and have left such beautiful comments. Your support of both our family and Sean has meant so much to us. Adoption is hard emotionally and your comments have been such a source of comfort for me.

*Thank you to my good friend Stephanie Kumor, Sean's guardian angel. You are such a blessing to our family and we wouldn't be where we are today, in so many ways, if it wasn't for you.

*Thank you to Heritage Hill Church here in Omaha for being so caring, so giving and so welcoming to us during this process. Your support and all that you have done for us has meant so much to us. We didn't even know any of you when we started this process and you welcomed us with open arms and open hearts. That has moved us beyond words.

*Thank you to ALL of you who have made donations to our cause. We never imagined this kind of support and outpouring of love when we started this process. The financial support we have received toward our adoption has blown us away and we are so grateful.

*Thank you to all of you who have said prayers for Sean and for our family. We cannot even begin to express how much this means to us and how much it has helped us through this process.

*Thank you to Ashley, who is at Sean's orphanage right now adopting her baby girl. The information you have sent me regarding Sean has brought me to tears, joyful ones, and is so precious to me right now. To know that he is so happy, and that he is loved and that he is safe means the world to me.

*Thank you to Sean's Ami Loria. It means so much to me that I can pick up the phone at any time and call you about the adoption. Your words of support and encouragement have been such a blessing. Sean is so lucky to have you as a grandparent and I feel blessed to have you as my mother-in-law.

This is just the tip of the iceberg and there will be plenty more thank you's throughout this process. You are all a blessing to us and we are grateful that you can be on this journey with us to bring Sean home to his forever family.

Financial Blessings

There have been so many amazing, wonderful things that have happened to us during this adoption process that have shown us that this is the path we are meant to be on. It is a path that has been chosen for us and we feel blessed to be a part of it. I cannot even begin to express how blessed we feel that Sean has come into our lives. He is already such a joy and light in our lives and we have yet to even have the opportunity to hold him in our arms. We cannot wait for that day. I cannot wait for the day when I get to hold my third son in my arms and let him know that his mama is here and everything is going to be alright.

When we started this journey, we thought that the money component of adoption was going to be the biggest challenge we would face during this process. We could not have been more wrong and we have been surprised in so many ways. We have been surprised by the things that have actually been presented as challenges for us and we have been surprised by the things that have begun to fall into place more easily. I want to share the wonderful blessings that have happened to us regarding the financial component of this adoption because it has not only blown us away but it has shown us that when things are meant to be, when you are chosen for a certain path... things will come together to get you there.

My husband and I were in our kitchen talking about money and the adoption (a familiar topic as all adopting families know, LOL). We specifically said a number, $4000. We stated during that conversation in our kitchen on a Friday afternoon that we needed to raise/earn at least $4000. Within 36 hours, the following Saturday night, of our conversation we had that $4000 and we had no idea that amount was coming to us! Within 36 hours of stating that amount, that specific amount was given to us through donations and a wonderful benefit dinner put on by a friend's church (yes, a friend's church, not even our church!). We were absolutely blown away. Everyone was. If that was not enough to reinforce our feelings that we were on the path we have been chosen for, this actually happened again.

A couple weeks later, I was having breakfast with a very dear friend of mine. We were talking about the adoption and I specifically said a number again... this was not even intentional, it was just a regular conversation between two good friends. Our plan that day was to go to the church after breakfast and pick up the check from the benefit dinner and then I was going to take that check and all of the other checks that people had given us and open a savings account. I knew that the savings account would have about $4000 in it. During our conversation, I had told her that my goal was to get $8000 in that savings account. I had not even said this to my husband. This was the first time I had said that specific amount and like I stated above, I didn't say this number hoping that a miracle would happen and suddenly we would have all that money. I was simply speaking with a friend without even really thinking about what I was saying. Well, after breakfast we went to the church and then I went to the bank and opened a savings account with $4370 in it.

I was feeling so good about this and couldn't believe how blessed we were to be able to open an account with this much money to go toward our adoption of Sean. I then came home and about an hour later (so about 3 hours since I had that conversation with my friend) I went to our family sponsorship page on Reece's Rainbow. I did not go there to look at our grant totals on that page but rather I went there to simply link to this blog. But before I could even make that link, I was blown away by what I saw on that page (and by the way, this all happened on our 7th wedding anniversary). Our account had gone up by $4000 that day! $4000! It turns out that someone who doesn't even know us donated $4000 to our family to help us bring Sean home. How beautifully amazing is that?! Within about 3 hours of specifically stating $8000, we had $8000! This still brings tears to my eyes as I am writing this.

I am still in awe of all of this and feel so blessed not only for the money but for what all of this means. It is showing us that we are doing what it is we are called to do and that is so unbelievably amazing to me. All of this is amazing to me. This whole experience has been life changing for me and I haven't even met Sean yet! I can't wait to see all the joy and light he brings to the world and to our lives. I am so happy and feel so blessed that I can share this journey with all of you. Thank you for listening and joining us on this amazing journey.
