"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do.
God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows what we know,
and holds us responsible to act." Prov 24:12

Who Will Love Me For Me

There is a new song out by JJ Heller called What Love Really Means and it just really speaks to me. Everytime I hear it, I am moved. The first part of the song could have been written for Sasha. Truly. It goes...

He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He’s the kid with the story no one would believe
He prays every night, “Dear God won’t you please
Could you send someone here who will love me?”

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me
‘Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means.

Sasha Hunt James Toomey, WE will love you for you. We do love you for you. We have always loved you for you. We loved you before we ever met you. Our love for you only grows each and every day. This is what parental love is... a truly unconditional love that can move mountains. I am so happy Sasha that you finally can feel that kind of parental love.. a love like no other. As JJ's song concludes...

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew.

  1. Devon, I agree. This song means so much to me. Both of the first two verses apply to me personally. Having been in an abusive marriage, I can relate so much to her feelings and of course, loving an "unwanted" child I can just imagine how those feelings invade the orphanages. Buying her CD was a splurge when I'm trying not to, but I have needed to use that song so many times to cry out to God. I'm glad you found it. :)
